At this price you'd typically consider these toy fixtures but I'm gonna be holding onto these for a while. The colour quality is superb, the reflector's great quality. The housing is mostly metal, something I didn't expect.
I love the bluetooth app control and the fact that the light doesn't need a clunky ballast. Honestly, at the price they are very hard to beat. Just imagine putting 8 or 10 of these on a grid and just blasting them through a silk. The dollar per watt, presents the best I'm aware of.
At the price there's gonna be some drawbacks and they should be known. In early testing, the fan sound is louder than I'd like for some applications. However, I usually denoise my tracks anyways. I'm bringing them to a profession set tomorrow, so I'll ask my editor how bad they are. Simply put they are louder than the Aputure 120D, however that light is priced at $750. One other thing is the Bowen's mount didn't click in with the same confidence I'm used to from the aputure COB lights. However that may be due to the cheap softboxes I bought for these lights.
Anyways just buy them and honestly get them from strobe pro, they're Canadian. Support Canadian retail especially if you're buying a Chinese light. They say on their site that they give an extra year warranty so thats even more reason to give them a try.
