Budget COB LEDs have been around for a little while now, but they were always somewhat lacking in terms of power. The SL100D could be considered a nice upgrade to the SL60, bringing a bit more oomf to a familiar form factor. Top that off with the increase to luminous efficiency that we've seen in all of Godox's latest LED models and you've got something really special here: A Bowens-mount LED bright enough to be your main light, all at an unbeatable price.
THE STROBEPRO DIFFERENCE
You could purchase Godox products somewhere else, but why would you? With Strobepro you get a 2-year warranty included FREE plus the added benefit of Strobepro's industry-leading support. Strobepro is the largest distributor of Godox products in Canada. Give yourself peace of mind with Strobepro's helpful staff, 2-year warranty, and Calgary-based service centre.
The Bowens mount allows you to shape your light in whichever way you see fit! The SL100D is compatible with all Strobepro modifiers.
The SL100D works with the optional RC-A6 Remote. Or, if you'd prefer, connect it via Bluetooth to your smartphone or tablet and control your SL100D from the comfortable interface of the Godox Light App! This is especially useful when your light is mounted up high or is otherwise out of reach.
Daylight 5600K Colour
The Godox SL100D has an excellent daylight colour balance of 5600K with a CRI of 96+.
Compared to other types of continuous lights, LEDs won't turn your shooting space into a sauna quite as quickly. The light itself is also fan-cooled to protect its internals and help vent heat out of the back instead of into your softbox or other modifier.

Godox SL100D is a cost effective upgrade of the SL60
Strobepro was easy to deal with and delivery was excellent.
I had previously used the SL60 and when I wanted to buy, I decided to try the SL100. It is a very good value as it seems quite well made and puts out a decent amount of light. Most of the time it will be used for still photography and occasionally for video. Paired with a small softbox it is useful for both portrait and product. For video it works well for interview style shooting. Colour accuracy is very good. The bluetooth function was a breeze to set up with my phone. The fan does make a bit of noise but unless you have a mic close to it, it shouldn't be a problem, it was not noticeable with a lav mic. Perhaps the softbox helps cut the sound a bit?
Bottom line; very affordable, good bang for the buck. Construction is great and it is very easy to use. I will most likely buy another one (or two).
I've been using it for artifact/product photography & must say I'm impressed. The remote feature is very handy when metering my lighting set-up; once I got used to using my phone. The illuminated area is very uniform - much more so than many old school incandescent fixtures. It runs remarkably cool - an asset when shooting close up.There is cooling fan noise; but it's reasonably quiet - haven't worked a video shoot yet; but I would recommend recording "air tone" for each scene just in case.
About the only critique is the "plastic" feel. Yes, it seems good quality plastic; but I doubt this fixture would stand-up to the rough-and-tumble every day on a busy set; but then I don't work in that circus anymore!
Best of all: it's great value-for-money. And, of course, Strobe Pro's customer service is always top notch.
Very good, I very pleased.
I am using it with 48” parabolic umbrella and your beautiful two strut single pole light stand with 50lbs of weights on bottom and use it now as a beautiful 110° angle field of view, flat daylight light lamp that I use for morning coffee.
Of course the relaxed environment makes it easy to play with crockery, shadow and illumination, but few shutter clicks so far.
