Intro to Studio Lighting

Ready to learn more useful information in 2 hours than most classes teach in a week? If you want to jump start or expand your studio lighting knowledge, then this is the class for you.   We’ll show you how to take great photos with a simple kit consisting of only two strobes and a reflector. You’ll learn about manual camera settings for studio shooting. Why, when and how to use different modifiers like umbrellas, softboxes, and reflectors.  You’ll also learn simple methods to place your lights effectively and how light placement dramatically affects your backdrop. Remove backdrop wrinkles with light, turn white pure white and black pure black. We’ll show you how to avoid some of the biggest mistakes in studio lighting.  Our live professional model will also share some great posing techniques. We use practical demonstrations so you won’t be left feeling overwhelmed with technical stats and theories. Hurry space is limited to 10 people.

Who is it for?

We recommend an understanding of shooting your camera in manual mode. Lighting experience is not required.  We recommend the Intro to Manual Photography workshop if you don't have any manual experience. If you’re thinking about buying strobes or just want to see what it’s all about, this seminar is for you.

Intro to Studio Lighting

Fantastic class. I left more informed and with a much better understanding about lighting and the difference between each. Staff was more then willing to stick around and answer questions and never tried to rush you out. A hands on class would be a great followup! Thank you Strobepro!

Great workshop

Although we spend through things quite quickly, I think I gained a lot of new information and have a much better understanding now when it comes to setting up lighting for portrait photography. Andre was very good and knows his stuff and Jesse was very patient with all my questions afterward (I was the last guy out). Loved this workshop and can't wait for the next one.

I loved it. Lots of

I loved it. Lots of information - lots of specific instructions from turning on your camera. I have lots of ideas now on what I want to do and buy.

Studio lighting workshop

Very good information, learned some new things and went over some basics. Would like to have had an opportunity to learn some hands on ( more interactive). But overall a great class and I will return for more.
