Customers praised this wheeled kit bag for "superior quality" and durability, with "larger, smoother zippers" and well-designed handles. It holds extensive lighting gear including stands, strobes, and modifiers. While "built like a tank," some noted it becomes very heavy when loaded. A few reported handle ergonomics and wheel size could improve for easier transport.

    • The quality of this bag is superior with larger and smoother zips and durable material.
    • Probably the best kit bag on the market - holds everything I need for portable studio.
    • Great build quality, fits everything I need and looks professional.

Probably the best kit bag on the market

Strobepro's large wheeled kit bag is absolutely fantastic. I do elementary school photography and I've been lugging my kit bag around from school to school for a couple years now. I'm rough with this thing but it still looks new apart from a couple scratches on the rubber rails (and that's what they're there for). We've been using the large wheeled kit bag to transport all our light heads but recently we made the decision to get additional kit bags so we can transport everything we need for a single station in one bag (apart from seamless paper). We now have 4 large wheeled kit bags (our 3 new bags just recently arrived) and I couldn't be more excited. It's FUN using the dividers to organize everything and get everything just how you want it.

    In each bag we transport:

    x4 light stands (9')
    x2 parabolic umbrella's (38" folded)
    x1 tripod (vanguard alta pro)
    x2 light heads with cords
    x1 dslr
    x1 extension cord
    x1 light meter
    x1 small box for transmitters/receivers
and more - with lots of space left over!

You will not regret this purchase. I don't think there's a better bag on the market.

This bag is built like a tank!

I recently purchased this rolling case to replace a similar one by Cameron (I believe) whose zipper finally split after a year and half. I've only been using this bag for a couple of weeks now, but I have put it through its paces here in a Canadian winter... and I LOVE IT!!!!

The bag is shorter than the previous one I had, but is much deeper. It was important for me for it to fit everything I need for my sports team photography work. I can fit 5 light stands, my tripod, a Godox AD600 Pro, two AD200's, a 47" folding octobox, ipad, spare batteries, ice grippers, ... everything I need (except for my camera bag) for my portable studio. It's perfect for me.

You can tell that this thing is built tough the first time you see it in person. Having handles on both ends is a godsend and makes lifting this bag with another person that much easier. The zippers seem very good, but it's still new for me, so time will tell.

Two items I would improve upon in the next iteration of this bag, would be as follows:

    1. Larger wheels (more ground clearance) would make dragging in a snowy parking lot that much easier. I had the same problem with my former bag and ended using a a folding truck to make it easier to wheel... but even that wasn't perfect because the bag was too long and truck handle was too short.

    2. Make the top handle longer (moving it up higher on the end of case would allow for the same type of handle but linger)>. I say this because I find that as I walk with this, pulling it behind me, it is constantly hitting the back of my leg. Its a nuisance but not the end of the world. I think a few more inches on the handle might be all that's necessary to fix this.

    Hope that helps.

    Rolling Light Case

Excellent case for the money, just used it on a flight, it held two roll up lights, cables, a couple stands, tape stringer, and accessories. Pretty rugged too!

Great bag. Good size for large lighter items

Bought after owning the medium for a year or so. Great companion to the medium as the larger bulky yet lighter items are a good fit.
I use it for modifiers, clamps, grip and stands.
Awesome bag, solidly built and speeds up my load in and out time a lot.

This is a good bag, it just got too heavy.

The bag was too heavy after loading it with light and camera equipment. I had to return it, but the cost of shipping was so much I should have sold it locally.

    As advertised

This thing is big and built for heavy duty use! The only thing to keep in mind is that it is very heavy when full. But it looks great, works great, and is built to last!

    Amazing bag

I wasnt sure if I needed the larger bag or if I could manage with the medium bag. Well I ended up getting the larger bag and it fits everything I need for doing interviews. It fits my Godox SL60 (with soft box), Neewer LED panel light, 2-Godox TL30 kits, a motorized camera slider, grip heads, 3 light stands, a boom pole and boom pole holder. It also helps that I no longer need to carry all of these pieces in individual bags and I look more professional when showing up for a shoot which gives clients a higher perceived value. Thanks Strobepro for making these bags.

    Travel to Film Documentary

I have to give you folks a lot of credit for building a Production Bag that has handled very heavy loads 70 lbs since Feb 2021 and more that 10 airline trips back and forth across the country to film a Documentary. The Bag looks and performes like new. Money well spent. I get complements all the time. They make my travel look more professional.

Best Upgrade for City/Car Travel Case

To start I had the Neweer Travel case of a similar size. That was not very durable and I feared pulling on the top handle as reviews have shown it would break. What sold me on the Strobepro Large case was the metal handle attached to an internal metal panel as well as the external corner skid plates. The sale price with shipping was an INVESTMENT. But I feel one that is WELL WORTH IT.

To start the case is slightly bigger than my old one and taller (I will get to that later). The construction is pretty damn solid. I banged on the corners and sides and they are very rigid and sturdy. The metal handle is strong and well secured. The overall build is strong and confident. The metal bar in the mid section handle came in handy and I appreciated it when it was needed. The same with the bottom grab handle. Plenty of dividers inside for me to pack 5 Paul Buff Lights with stands, Modifiers, extension cords and grip gear with a few dividers left over. The straps holding the top up came in real handy on location when getting in and out and not having to over reach to get the lid to close it back down. Once the top padded section goes on after packing this bad boy I still had more room at the top with the recessed lid. This allowed me to add reflectors and foam core bounces I need for a shoot. I eliminated another bag for me to carry. Now the case is heavier than my previous but it is a rare off I gladly accept for a stronger build.

I road tested this here in NYC. I had a client product shoot at their offices. I packed all my gear at my photo studio and took the case with 3 lights, 6 stands, modifiers, grip, power strips, cords and etc. I rolled it 6 blocks and took it on the subway home. It rolls easily and was able to roll it up and down the stairs. (As a side note for any upgrade I ask that they extend the bottom runners lower as the edge of the stairs hits the case at the space between the wheel housing and the rails.) The metal handle and durable construction made me feel confident that this was a case that was going to last. From Queens to Harlem I took it up the escalator (it fits perfect on the thin width escalator easily with inches to spare) and pulled it up 2 flights of stairs. The day of the shoot I could easily lift it into the back of the NYC taxi. I even put it into the trunk of a Honda Civic. Getting it out I was happy to use the bottom handle. This case is great for mid size car trunks.

If this case was around a few years ago I would have bought it first instead of wasting my money on a similar size cheaper case. To me the Strobepro Ultimate Wheeled Kit Bag Large is an investment worth its price as a long term piece of equipment for my studio. I say this as a photographer and also as a person who worked in the backpack and luggage industry here in NYC for 20 years. I have been to the factories in mainland Northern China and intimate with the construction and materials used at low and high end bag factories. (The comment about YKK zippers in the video is 100% true. They are pricey but are worth every penny as the zipper can give out before the bag does)

One Bag to rule them all!

I needed a single case large enough to carry (6) Godox/Flashpoint AD600s with batteries, chargers, AC adaptors, cords, and other accessories to and from my studio. I was tired of lugging 2-3 different bags and occasionally having things go missing or forgotten as they were spread over different bags. This case solved it all. It is heavy duty, great rollers, and lots of space. I was able to get all my AD600 lighting kit in this bag. It is extremely heavy with all that gear, but I only have to lift it in and out of the car. Otherwise rolls so easily and makes my kit much more accessible. I liked it so much I bought a Medium Case for my AD1200 packs and now have both kits perfectly organized and ready to go. Strobepro continues to impress with their design, their quality, amazing prices and listening to customer feedback. I only wish this bag was an inch taller to make packing the AD600's with the battery pack attached a little less snug when standing vertically. But it works and I love it!

    Original Version Review

I bought 4 of these, 2 of the larger ones and 2 shorter/smaller ones a couple years ago and with about 100 on site jobs with them.
Overall the ideas behind it are good but a lot of finesse missing. I'll break it down and get a little fussy with my review because I imagine someone out there would want some specific examples. Granted, several of these things are fixed with the new iteration.

Handle: With these types of handles being so close to the top of the bag, the bag will hit your leg/back of thigh very often. We have women around 5' tall and men at 6' and everything in between and both sizes of bags hits into their legs when rolling making it very awkward to roll for a considerable distance. Luckily the wheel covers have been removed in the new iteration because it forced you to keep the bag at a certain angle when rolling and if you weren't at an ideal height it would extra awkward. Would suggest/recommend an extendable handle in the future.

For bags of this size, considering how much weight it can handle you'd really want the handle to be more substantial. We've had to manually carry these bags over non-rollable surfaces and the super thin handles end up digging into your palm extremely quickly. Other than that, the handles have not given us and issues i.e. falling off or loosening etc.

The middle velcro used to lift the bag from the centre is useless as the hook and loop they chose is not strong at all, often just ripping open when you use this grab handle. This could be the "rigid core carry handle" but not entirely sure.

Wishing the elastic bands on the bottom side of the cover were adjustable straps or even detachable. While a neat idea, they often just get in the way when using the zippered pockets since the bands run straight down the middle.

One of our wheels recently fell off, we can likely find parts for it but I've never had a wheel fall off any of my other luggage type gear (both general travel suitcases or roller bags made by ThinkTank and LowePro that I've rolled all around the world for over a decade).

My team and I do notice more of these smaller functionality deficiencies of the bag since we're going on site week after week with these bags and how we interact with it really matters. The bag overall is built solidly and durable. It's great that they are listening to feedback and making changes as needed.

which one will fit the 10" stand?

    Strobepro Studio Lighting

The large will only fit our 9' Stands. None of the wheeled bags will fit the 10'. You'd need to go to something like this bag.https://strobepro.com/products/strobepro-ultimate-stand-bag-4-pieceThanks
