This is a great addition to c-stand light stand - I upgraded from the standard C-Stand boom to this much more versatile boom. I had issued with the standard boom with low-positions (i.e. softbox really close to the ground) and the Universal Boom Arm comes to the rescue and does everything - over-top or low, you can easily and securely place your light exactly where you want it.

I'm able to get my lighting in just the right spots without worrying about where the stand legs are.

I love this boom! I'm currently a photography student and at school we have these huge bulky booms that are super sturdy and I wasn't sure how this would stand up to those at school in my home studio. I'm honestly really impressed with how strong it is, add a few heavy sand bags at the end - it'll work flawlessly + it's way more affordable than a set boom stand that are upwards of 300 dollars most of the time and take up so much space! (I also like how I can easily pack this away as I have a relatively small studio). I'm not too sure about putting too heavy modifiers like an 86 umbrella but with my 36 inch octabox, it's been able to stand its weight with ease, bending only minimally. The lock is pretty stiff as well, I'm confident my setup won't be going anywhere with this boom. I use this for all my shoots now and they hold all my main lighting and allow me to place my modifiers in angles I wouldn't have been able reach if I only had the stands. My professor was right, a boom is a great investment and definitely worth the price! I promise! I guess it's only the test of time for me now! (Also shoutout to Kevin on customer service for being so easy work with quick with those replies) Thanks a lot!

Great product, came the next day and perfectly turned my 9' air stand into a boom stand for a suspended hair light. Everything seems really sturdy, well designed, and the included sand bag works great once I added sand (picked a 25 lb bag up from Home Depot for $8 since I didn't have any on hand).

This saved me some $$ by allowing me to use my existing 10' stands. It's useful when I need the stand out of the way. The flat part of the spigot is a huge lifesaver and the clamps in general are very grippy. I've used others, including C-stands and the weight of the payload is enough to twist down the modifiers. Make sure to use the weight bag. This stuff is legit and good!

Works great in conjunction with the STROBEPRO SPEEDLITE FLASH BRACKET and a small flash or even with the Strobepro X200 - I personally haven't used anything heavier. Getting the counter balance bag with the boom arm is a well received added value and should be used every time you use the boom arm. Kevin, from Strobepro clarified a question I had by suggesting the spigot usually be attached in line with the boom arm before attaching a "light". Since I have done that I have had no "twisting" of the boom arm/light combination. My go to combination is a Strobepro 10' Auto Stand, the Strobepro Universal Boom Arm, a Strobepro Speedlite Bracket, Strobepro X200 Flash Unit and Strobepro 32" Rapid Beauty Dish Kit. In this configuration I use to boom arm in the fully collapsed position or with the next biggest extension tube pulled out 6" to 8". I personally have not used the boom arm extended past this length.

I'd buy another one of these in a second! I had to find something to put in the included 'sand' bag, but most anything would work! (Books, weights, lead) The adjustments are nice and tight, the flexible -90, 0, 90 spigot on the end is great, too! I would trust this boom with a lot more weight than I'm using it for!

Need something to give your stands the option to light from above or at a high angle, this is for you. strong, sturdy, well built and a fantastic product to do the job. This is actually a great accessory to have if you do need a boom that can fit on a smaller stand. I have the larger stand with the built in boom and there are times when a shorter stand is needed for some of work. Very well built as I would expect from StrobePro.

I purchased a Universal Boom Arm for my C-stand to work between 40” and 20” grip arms. It also works well with the Micro Roller Stand and Pivot Ball Head for mounting cameras, lights and microphones for tabletop shooting.
