Clamshell lighting is a favourite of headshot photographers. The Portrait Illuminator takes this beautiful lighting technique to the next level with its unique crescent-shaped catchlight. Our 25" Rapid Pro Beauty Dish, with its silver interior, is our more classic beauty dish. It emphasizes specular highlights and really makes a portrait pop! For a softer look, you can install the included diffusers. and use the white surface on your Portrait Illuminator.
Add stands
In order to get your light overhead without crowding your camera position, we recommend a boom stand for your key light when using the Portrait Illuminator. The Portrait Illuminator itself does best with a stand that can get low to the ground, such as our 7' 2GO Light Stand. Choose either or both options from the dropdown menus.
