Strobepro Parabolic Softbox Focus Bracket

15 reviews

Focus Your Rapid Deep Softbox

The Strobepro Parabolic Softbox Focus Bracket is designed to work with the 36" or 47" Strobepro Rapid Deep Softbox series.  It unleashes the full potential of the Deep Softbox to create either focused specular lighting or softer wrapping lighting with the same modifier.

Fit

Currently, our Parabolic Focus Bracket is only available in a Bowens mount.  The strobe mount is Bowens (male) and the modifier mount is Bowens (female).

How it Works

The Rapid Deep Softbox attaches to the Bowens speedring receiver.  The focusing rod slides back and forth to create different lighting effects.

Heavy Duty

The bracket is all metal and includes a yoke-style tilt to handle heavy loads.

Square Spigots

The spigots are squared off to prevent twisting.

Perfect Add-On to a already great modifier

I think the focus bracket is a must have with the parabolics. I did only try it with beauty/portraits, but the light was even throughout the frame. I didn’t use the diffusion material on the front, and what I was left with was this beautiful soft reflected light. If you are just getting into beauty/portrait photography, I would highly recommend getting a parabolic with the focus bracket over the beauty dish. It’s kind of like a fail-safe approach. Just remember to put the diffusion material on the front when photographing older people or people with less than perfect skin.

    Strobepro parabolic plus focus bracket

Strobepro is always friendly and helpful, I love dealing with them for all my photography needs. The parabolic is deep and well built, it’s easy to deploy and the focus bracket makes this now my favorite light modifier. I can use it without the bracket as a normal parabolic to great results. All in all my experience has been amazing, I would recommend Strobepro for anyone willing up their photography game. Strobepro is your willing partner in making beauty happen.

Nice light control, a bit flimsy

The light control is great and the piece itself is solid, but the modifiers (I have both sizes) fall off really easily. I’ve tightened the screws because they were loose, but they’re getting loose again and it’s only been a week. I won’t use this with clients out of caution.

    Minor issues but overall happy

Got the focus bracket today and spent some time setting it up and testing it out. I was surprised that It doesn't fit directly onto a Strobepro C-Stand - I had to use a spigot on a grip head for it to attach properly. One other minor thing was the way the speedring attaches to the focus bracket - I wish there was an easier mounting solution. Other than those things, it's a great addition to my studio and looking forward to using it a lot more.
