The barndoors are stiff enough so that they don't move due to gravity and the gels add an extra splash of colour to your photos. The doors also work great with the colour correction kit or the colour effects kit.

Strobepro may be selling products at a price point that is 1/3 the price of high end studio equipment, however the quality and service makes you feel like you just purchased something from a store with security guards dressed in black suits and offering you an espresso. I know this time its only barn doors.

This product has been very helpful to me so far, I can't believe I didn't buy them sooner! Im thinking of buying another one as I didn't realize how much they help at directing light - I had it side by side with another strobe, one with the barn doors and the other with the harsh light for comparison - it was dramatic the difference! Highly recommend.

I finally had a chance to test out the barn door set, and found pretty quickly that the barn doors don't work.
It's fine when the doors are wide open but as soon as you narrow them for more control, you see a ring of light.
The barn doors do not make a tight connection to the 7" reflector, causing light to leak.

The grid and gels are fine. The barn doors are a bit difficult to attach to the reflector and the doors dont shape the light as well as had hoped.

It was easy to attach the barn doors to my existing 7-inch reflectors; I wish there would be more gel colours made available as add-ons, because the magnetic mounts are very handy!

This accessory for my lights is so much fun to use. The options with the ability to control your light amount are endless. Such a fun way to use with my portraits. Would absolutely recommend this.

As others mention the doors are pretty short. Magnetic gel holders work more or less. But the worst part was it would NOT fit a 7in. reflector. I had to take a pair of pliers to it to make it fit. Locking spring across the top/bottom does not lock solidly. No idea if it will fall off like another reviewer. Would have returned, except the shipping which is NOT reimbursed would have cost more than the product. So 2 stars, since at least it is not total crap, and the addition of grid and gels is a benefit.

Great price for these barndoors. The doors are shorter than barndoors Ive bought from other retailers, but still worked well for my purposes, keeping light from spilling onto the background. I like the magnetic gel holders. I pulled the gel off of one holder, and attached a piece of diffusion fabric from an old, broken softbox so that I could diffuse my hair light.

The fixing bolts and associated nuts were not tight enough and the barndoor detached and fell on the ground once. I fastened the nuts again. Seems the nuts do not match with the bolts.

Acceptable quality. Doors could be much bigger.The barn door baffle is smaller then the reflector causing an unpleasant throw of light. Its worth the money if you are "handy" and can modify it to suit.

I wrote you before regarding this product but I can't find the email conversation anymore. I have Einstein strobes and the reflector is about 8.5". Is there anywhere I do or anything additional with Balcar ring to be able to use this on my Einsteins? Thanks!
Hi LoisUnfortunately this won't fit an 8.5 inch reflector. You could consider getting a 7 inch bowens but you would still need the adapter to fit onto your elinchrom. I'm not sure what you mean about the Balcar ring. Can you clarify?Thanks
