The Strobepro Tri-Sandbag distributes the weight evenly on all three sides of the stand. It provides great downforce instead of using just a single sandbag on one leg. The big carabiner quickly clips to the heavy-duty D-ring. The tri-sandbag will fit any lightstand.
We took the standard sandbag and added slots for water bottles in addition to sand for extra weight. We also added a nice carabiner.
Reinforced stitching in the handle and the sliding D-ring with carabiner make placing this bag on your stand or boom really convenient.
We ship sandbags empty because they cost so much to ship. Grab a $5 bag of play sand at Home Depot and a couple of Ziplock Freezer bags to fill up. This keeps everything clean if the bags happen to be out in the pouring rain.
Sandbags ship empty. Water bottles are not included.
Customers praised this tri-sandbag for effectively securing light stands and preventing equipment damage. "Works extremely well in securing your light stand/lighting gear." The triangular design won't slide off, and versatile filling options (sand, rocks, water bottles) make it travel-friendly. High-quality construction noted, though one reviewer mentioned the carabiner broke quickly.
Another excellent product from Strobepro. This is so easy to use and works extremely well in securing your light stand/lighting gear. Be sure to watch the Strobepro video which suggests the use of ziploc bags instead of pouring sand or dirt directly in the pockets. I use rocks myself but I still use ziploc bags to keep things tidy and water-proof.
I bought this to use with a strobe pro ring light and stand. I was worried about the stand tipping over and damaging the ring light, so I ordered these weight bags for the stands Just to be extra secure. The strobe pro stands were way better then any stands Ive used, they arent easy to tip over. So I would say the bag isnt important unless your working in really extreme weather; the material and the construction were really high quality.
Great concept for weight using sand and bottles of drinkable water. The carabiner is subpar, metal and aluminum, lasted all of five minutes from the box to the umbrella stand. Suggest you should source carabiners that are all steel.
Love that you can easily use bottled water, or bags of sand for this sandbag. Perfect for travelling and easy to store. Wont slide off a light stand, either. Just what I was looking for.
This product helps save my gear from the ever so pesky wind and ridiculously larger modifiers I love to use. Fill the bags with some sand or anything heat easily attach to your stand and your ready to shoot without worrying about your light falling over and breaking into many pieces.
10/10 recommended to anyone needing some extra weight and protection to their equipment.
Added some sand into ziplock bags and works great!
This product is just what I needed. works great.
It is exactly as described, however I do not see any QC issues; the stitching looks great and no other issues with the hardware as well. It looks great! However only time will tell how long it will continue to silently perform without issues.
I want more!
I shoot outdoor portraits and am usually a one man operation so it is nice to know that my light stands are secure. Instead of using sand I bought a bag of landscape rocks. I washed and dried them before putting them in the bags. No need to add additional water bottles.
great thanks
Its great, keeps things in place.
Wow such a simple bag system! It works with stands I have that don't have horizontal supports. I have two of these and I may add more to my kit.
The idea to be able to use sand and/or bottles of water help to reduce the filled weight of the sand bag. In many situation, I could bring extra empty soda bottles and filled it with water to add additional weight for stabilization is great idea. In addition, the triangular arrangement is much better than conventional saddle bag type design.
Great, i first railway spikes which have enuff of but was worried about sharp edges, so filled the pockets with large washed gravel, about an inch or 2 in diameter all rounded
The bag s well designed and produced. Used so far for one photo shoot. Like the idea to have option to use bottle with water instead or additional to sandbags. Probably would research for camping water bags to use then in the sand bag pockets...
Good design idea. 3 sided makes it easy to balance and secure the weight all around the light stand. I took the advice of the product video and put play sand in a good quality ziploc bag to protect it from sand/mud leakage. Wish I bought this a month ago, I had a sand back slide off lightstand leg. and wind blew over my stand and Strobepro flash (flash still works by the way, the display is messed up but still fires and controllable by remote.)
It works very well. Great to make sure your lightstand stays in place!
Highly recommend this for all of your stands!
It's a great weight bag and does exactly what you need it to do - weight things down!
Excellent service and fast shipping. The best!
