I ordered this two light kit for an event I was photographing and I must say it was everything I had hoped and more!!
Lots of light…light…and no cables. Isn’t this what we always wanted? We can discuss battery life and T times over a cup of tea, but if you buy a couple extra and use your brain, these are totes amazeballs.
I’ve been using these lights for just about a year now, and recently fully switched all of my lighting kit over to Strobepro gear. The batteries last for a long time, I haven’t had one die mid shoot. The lights themselves are really reliable and the Xpro commander unit is really intuitive to use. These lights save me a ton of time compared to my previous system, and are more convenient to pack around. I wasn’t too sure about the 9’ adjustable leg stands at first because I typically use fairly heavy-duty stands, but they’re honestly really good. The adjustable legs have come in handy in a number of different situations where I have to set up on uneven ground or where there’s a bit of an elevation change like the bottom of a set of stairs, or high curb. With the legs fully extended, the base size of the stand is huge, which makes them way more stable when shooting outside with a modifier attached as well. This is a great kit if you’re looking for a reliable and easily portable 2-light setup. I’d recommend getting the 3-stand carry bag to go with it.
I recently bought this kit along with a third light to use on a tourism ad campaign shoot with ten locations. I needed something portable and quick to setup. They worked flawlessly even in - 26 degree C weather! I am not a TTL user typically, however I did use it expensively this time, using the adjustments on the remote to get the lighting right. I worried about battery life, since I had to light interiors bouncing the light off the ceiling, etc. and it required full power. I’m happy to say I never came close to running out of juice, although I will probably end up buying extra batteries for peace of mind.
