Cardioid microphones mitigate sounds from the sides and rear, allowing you to get a cleaner signal from your subject. This often makes a cardioid mic the ideal choice for on camera use. Super-cardioid mics like the BY-BM3031 have superior side and rear rejection, but the BY-MM1 strikes a nice balance in a small form factor.
The BY-MM1 requires no battery, and works on most cameras, camcorders, and smartphones, and computers.
The BY-MM1 is tiny, and makes a night and day difference to your audio when compared to any built-in mic. Its sturdy metal body will help it survive everyday use for years to come. Having this mic in your bag is a no-brainer!
The BY-MM1 comes fully loaded with the extras you'll need to mitigate sounds transferred through your camera body, as well as unwanted wind noise.

I wanted something other than my on camera mic (5DM4) to capture some audio that had a little more depth and richness without breaking the bank. This mic delivers! Comes with everything you need and even a wind sock! So for the money and what it did for my needs, I would definitely recommend it!
At a 3rd of the price of the similar Rode VideoMicro, this Boya mic has very similar audio qualities and an excellent build quality. Comes with the extra TRRS & TRS connector cables which make it ready to plug & play right out of the box for your smartphone, tablet, computer, camera, etc.
I’m not a super tech savvy type of person but this little mic is so beginner friendly and performs well to have a little something more than your phone’s mic. Super affordable compared to other brands too!
Sound is pretty decent for the price, and it seems to work fairly well. Easy to use, jusy plug it in and it works. Only problem is occasional balancing issues when trying to stand it up on my desk.
Great little mic to improve sound when videoing with iphone
