I ordered the older model in March 2019. Today, I am trying to sell it and discovered that the total height is less than 8'. It is even less than the "maximum height" of 91". Mine is 88". I also bought another one used. Same issue. The actual height of that one is 90". Deceptive advertising? I'll let you as the buyer be the judge when you receive your updated version. Measure it. Return it if you are not happy with the height.
HI Peter, Sorry you are upset with the height of the stand you purchased several years ago. We are not trying to deceive anyone. The model you show in the photos was replaced a few years back and now goes up to 94". We also state the maximum height in the specs. Adding any mount pushes it past 8' and people found it confusing adding the measurements in inches to the product name which is why we called it 8 feet. You are correct that the current version is 2" short of 96". Hopefully this didn't affect your shoot. We apologize for the confusion.
This thing is built like a tank! It’s comfortingly heavy and rolls like a Cadillac or a Rolls Royce, depending on which country you live in! The foldable legs are easy to use and make it a relatively compact size should you need to travel with it. It doesn’t however compact in length very much. Something to consider if the “closed” length is an issue. I love the pair that I own! So much easier to move the light, if you want to reposition it. I will probably buy more!
This thing is built like a tank! An absolutely solid piece of kit, really heavy and well built. It’s soooo much easier having lights on a roller stand. I think I’m going to have to change all my stands now!!
I'm glad I got the last one of the original design as my lights fit on it perfectly (not so much on the new version). There should be a choice of heads that go with the stand instead of discontinuing the original one. I'm sure there is a good reason for the change but I would rate the original at 5 stars and the new one would rate at 4 stars.
I was actually surprised at how solid this stand is for the price. It holds my LED panel and Fuji XT-4 with no worries. Great buy!
