Why didn’t I do this years ago? I’ve got a small basement studio and found it really awkward to get a light above my subjects for a hair light. When I saw this on Strobepro.com, my mind started to figure out a way to install it and still keep my ceiling tile. Kevin helped me brainstorm and here it is. Hmm, I wanted to put the photos in sequence, but I can’t seem to do that. Basically I removed a ceiling panel, added a brace, installed the fixed mount ceiling stand. Separated the extension so it was just a tube, measured 3 times to make sure the hole would be in the right place , put up the tile, attached the extension and now I can put up whatever modifier I want. I also tested it with a magic arm so I can vary the distance and angles.
Very good experience for using it, move my strobe from ground stand to ceiling saved a lot of ground space.
Perfect item (Pair) Use to mount lights permanently to ceiling of home studio. We have exposed studs, so just angled the mount so that 2 corners could be attached with lag screws. Solid.
