One version is not better than another, and the version you receive can vary depending on the production batch. For everyday use, they all perform the same in your light and charger.

    I actually havent even used it yet but Im expecting the same greatness as the original AD200. I was a little disappointed that the flash tube didnt come with the same metal protective cover as my first 2 AD200s though.

    I use my AD200 when I need a portable "studio-like" lighting when I am away from the studio. I often shoot with a smaller f-stop to get a wide depth of field. That is hard on my batteries, so I do end up needing a second batter for my key light. This battery works identically to the original.
