Simple to use- trigger and remote for camera

I just purchased two Nikon XRN Radio Receivers for my Nikon SB800 flashes. I am so happy to have one controller that controls both my flashes and studio strobe. The nice thing is that I was able to switch between the units when I needed to. The XRN has a very large display showing the channel and group which is easy to read. Very easy to change by taping the buttons to toggle through the channels and groups. With a range of 300 feet that will meet my needs. I also tested this unit as a remote trigger on my D750 to create a remote camera. I attached the unit to the hot shoe and used the supplied cables to connect the unit to the mini-port of the camera. By pushing the large test button on the XTN (Transmitter) the camera fired. Placing a flash on top of the unit allowed the flash to fire as well. The camera seemed to wake-up and not have issues with focusing and taking a shot. If you use the XTN connected to another camera for controlling other flashes the XRN receiver will not trip the remote camera if you fire the other camera. You need to push the test button on the XTN. I do not see this as an issue, since the test button on the XTN becomes your shutter release for the remote camera. You can use the XTN on your main camera for taking photos and then simply push the test button to fire the remote camera. I find this feature gives me options in my set ups. Getting my flash units off the camera and even closer to my subject. I expect I will be able to use my smaller flashes as hair lights and for accent lighting.

      Versatile product for Nikon shooters

I bought two of these so that I can control my old Nikon flashes with the X-PRO N trigger on my Nikon bodies. Works great. TTL and HSS work as advertised. However an additional benefit is that I can also fire my two Paul Buff Einstein flashes with these receivers. I now have four strobes (the Einsteins and two Strobepro AD600s) that can all be triggered from the X-PRO N. The Einsteins can only be fired - not controlled - with these receivers, but if I want to I can use my Buff Cyber Commander to remotely control the Einsteins. The X-PRO N and the Cyber Commander can be used on the same shoot without any problems. Another feature of this receiver is that it can be plugged in to a Nikon body, and the X-PRO N can be used to remotely fire the shutter release. I'm not sure how much I'll use this, but I tested it and it works fine. Cables are included for doing all the things discussed above. Bottom line, I'm very happy with these receivers.
