The new lock is misrepresented in the video, otherwise a great unit
The X2T trigger arrived with a bunch of other gear that I ordered. The first thing that I did was check out the new foot locking mechanism. Twisted it on - couldn't twist it off. I stopped short of using enough force to break it. Contacted Kevin and told him the problem. You cannot beat Strobepro's service. Kevin set me another one by Express Purolator, probably even before he had received the original one which I had returned.
It was with great anticipation that I twisted the foot lock on the second unit. It was stiffer to turn to lock than the first one and appeared to not want to unlock like the first one. I guess I held my nose the right way, because I eventually got it to unlock. Note - it does NOT unlock with a delicate push of an index finger the way you see it done in the video. Maybe it will loosen up over time.
The X2T connected to my LG G7 via bluetooth with no problem. I'm looking forward to controlling my two V860IIs, my two AD200s and my XPro 600 all via the phone app.
It sounds like your hotshoe could be bent which is causing the issue. You should be able to easily move the lock just like the video. We'll contact you by email to figure out what is going on.
Great customer service and delivery was super fast
this product was very easy to use. Although i had some issues connecting it to my Nikon Speedlight with my Receiver and i called Strobepro and i got the best customer service.
Although missing the TCM function like the XT Pro, this model lets me use my Pocket Wizard radios with my legacy strobe gear by simply mounting a PW MiniTT1 on the X2T hot shoe. I like that this model also lets you see the LCD screen from the back when the camera is mounted high on a tripod or shooting straight down. It has been reliable and no sync issues.
