Make life easier by rolling and unrolling your paper backdrops with the pull of a chain. The shafts insert into the paper roll and expand creating a secure grip. The chain fits around the gear and is counter-weighted to keep it in place.
What do I need?
Get a set for each roll of paper you have. They work with our double and triple background brackets. You don't need a background crossbar when you use the hand-operated lifting shaft set.

I had broken one of the sides from my original set, so I ordered this piece to replace just what was broken. The plastic chain is slightly better than the one that came in the set, and the weight helps too. The main piece works perfectly with my existing system.

I love that this came with a black chain unlike others Ive ordered from a different company that came in orange blue and yellow. Those colors looked hideous in my studio and stuck out like a sore thumb. The black is such an improvement!

I was waiting seemingly a long time for this to be in stock. I am glad I waited. My studio in Ottawa is fairly small and using the standard back drop stands, I lost some valuable space.
This Set (by allowing to mount on the wall, gave me about 2.5 feet of extra room making a big difference in light positioning, focusing distances, etc.
It was easy to install (even for a klutz like me)

This does what it needs to do. I really wish that there was some kind of contraption that would lock in the chain exactly where it needs to be. Even happen in with my paper can make or break the background and it's got quite a bit of play around the year. If they could find a way to tighten that up or create a device that would lock it into place that would be fantastic.

We understand your concern about the chain having some play and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. To prevent the chain from moving, we recommend using an A Clamp to pinch the chain together. Another option is to use a set of paper stops for each roll, which will prevent it from unspooling at all. Hey Strobe Pro!I am wanting to put together a three roll set ups and I was thinking that three yellow pull chains are manageable but it would be nice to have different coloured chains? Is that possible? If not any thoughts on keeping the pull chain visually sorted? Thanks
Hi Jason,We just carry the yellow for stock reasons. Some people just put a piece of coloured duct tape on the chain to make it easier to identify. Thanks

Is there a stronger (eg metal) chain available for these? We use them with canvas backdrops on metal pipe. It works great, but takes a bit more force to roll up. Because of this the plastic chain sometimes comes apart, which is a pain in the middle of a shoot.

Does this lifting set work with the sectional tubing you sell to go inside the paper rolls?
Yes it does.

These will work with a metal / aluminum tube? Do you sell the tubes as well or know where to get them?
We don't sell the tubes but they will work with a 2" opening. Some people have tried pipe and ABS from Home Depot or a local electrical wholesaler.
