Customers praised this rolling light stand as "built like a tank" with exceptional stability and smooth-rolling wheels. The heavy-duty construction, foldable legs, and locking wheels earned high marks. However, some noted the advertised height may not match actual measurements, and the legs take up significant space. Ideal for studio use.

    • This thing is built like a tank! An absolutely solid piece of kit, really heavy and well built.
    • Give it a push, and it glides silently across the floor.
    • I am very happy with the quality and low price

    8 roller standawesome!

This thing is built like a tank!
Its comfortingly heavy and rolls like a Cadillac or a Rolls Royce, depending on which country you live in!
The foldable legs are easy to use and make it a relatively compact size should you need to travel with it.
It doesnt however compact in length very much.
Something to consider if the closed length is an issue.

I love the pair that I own!
So much easier to move the light, if you want to reposition it.

    I will probably buy more!

    I plan to buy more

These stands are amazing. Love them. They are heavy duty, and easy to use. I dont think I would go back to stands without wheels.

    High Roller Stand

I'm glad I got the last one of the original design as my lights fit on it perfectly (not so much on the new version). There should be a choice of heads that go with the stand instead of discontinuing the original one. I'm sure there is a good reason for the change but I would rate the original at 5 stars and the new one would rate at 4 stars.

Quality is great, but not as pictured on the photos.

Quality is great, but not as pictured on the photos.

Sorry about that. We have improved the new version but didn't have time to update the new photos yet. The only thing that has changed is the new connection head that will now take a junior receiver as well as a retractable spigot. Hopefully this hasn't caused too much inconvenience. Please let us know if this won't work for you.
    Thanks

    I've Always Wanted One

If you're tired of having to drag your stand across the studio, then you need this. Give it a push, and it glides silently across the floor. The locks on the wheels have a great feature where it will lock exactly where you've pointed them, so there is no chance they'll move. Pop a sandbag on and you're good to go. Seems as stable as my Matthews without the rolling base. Definitely built more heavy duty than I expected. Recommended!

MORE USEFUL THAN A C STAND

This is my second Strobepro.com 8' High Roller Rolling Light Stand. The first one was purchased used. The new one was delivered missing the plastic 1/4" male thread screw protector for the 1/4" to 3/8" Reversible Square Spigot. Other than that, the stand was well packaged with foam rolled sheets, zip lock bags, plastic bags and cardboard cushions. I gave the spring inside the bottom of the riser a squirt of WD-40 for corrosion protection. The three wheels needed to be locked before spinning them onto the leg. The 1/4" to 3/8" Reversible Square Spigot is genius. No more spinning of the spigot or light. The plastic cable clip attached to the lower fixed riser is a welcome accessory. The two roller stands will be used for supporting a Kupo Konvi Clamp with Kupo KS-012 Swivel U Hooks which will support a 10' backdrop aluminum pole. Of course, the stands will also be used to support grip arms, boom arms, lights, etc. I am very happy with the quality and low price which cannot be found in stores in the Greater Toronto Area.

    Solid strobe (w/SoftBox) stand

We use it with a neewer strobe (4-5lbs) attached to a 30-inch Godox Octabox/softbox (1-3lbs). My wife & I really like this stand...

    Pros:
    1. Solid build.
    2. Legitimate storability.
    3. Can stand even when folded.
    4. Glides well.
    5. Base is not too wide.

    Future Suggestions
    1. A 10ft option w/same build&base
    2. Come w/StrobePro flat-sided Spigot
    3. Make stand air cushioned
    4. Detachable base/pole

    PS, wonderful customer service

    Love it!

This is a very sturdy stand, which is what I was looking for, but also having the wheels seems to make it take up less space because the low legs can tuck under furniture. This is not a stand to take on the go, as it weighs a lot! But its amazing for in studio!

    I was expecting the legs

I was expecting the legs to be narrower, as they take up a large space. But the structure is very sturdy and good in quality.

    Beware of the advertised heights

I ordered the older model in March 2019. Today, I am trying to sell it and discovered that the total height is less than 8'. It is even less than the "maximum height" of 91". Mine is 88". I also bought another one used. Same issue. The actual height of that one is 90". Deceptive advertising? I'll let you as the buyer be the judge when you receive your updated version. Measure it. Return it if you are not happy with the height.

    HI Peter,
Sorry you are upset with the height of the stand you purchased several years ago. We are not trying to deceive anyone. The model you show in the photos was replaced a few years back and now goes up to 94'. We also state the maximum height in the specs. Adding any mount pushes it past 8' and people found it confusing adding the measurements in inches to the product name which is why we called it 8 feet. You are correct that the current version is 2' short of 96'. Hopefully this didn't affect your shoot. We apologize for the confusion.
