Our 9' HD (heavy duty) Studio Light Stand is made from stainless steel and is built to handle your heaviest payloads. The weight of this stand helps ensure that gravity is on your side, and the quality of materials and construction was chosen with a lifetime of use in mind.
While a boom should always be counter-balanced, having a solid stand beneath it provides additional peace of mind. You can bundle the 9' HD with a traditional C Stand boom, or, for something a little extra, the Heavy Duty Baby Boom! See the dropdown menu options above.
If the 9' HD wasn't a tremendous value already, heavy-duty casters with locks are included in its price. Move your heaviest strobes and modifiers around the studio with minimal effort.
The 9' HD is a bit more travel-friendly than a C Stand. The 9' HD is able to fit fully inside an average trunk space without needing to go through the back seat. It's perfect for those location shoots where a heavy-duty stand is still required.
The Centre column can be dropped all the way to the ground for a fourth contact point, providing maximum stability.

This light stand with the wheels is very easy to move around, it's also very durable and good quality. The reason for the four stars, this light stand does not have air cushioning. If it did, I would have given it five stars. Still, I am a happy customer with Strobepro and their great service!
So far it's as advertised, well built like all the Strobepro gear. I do wish it was gas/pneumatic supported because a stand like this is expected to carry heavy loads, and it's easy to get caught off guard when handling the load. Even better, I'd love to see a crank version of this stand, to help manage the elevation adjustments.
This is a solidly build stand, and it categorically wins my vote of confidence for being sturdy, dependable, and smooth rolling when its castors are attached. I regularly use this stand during my event/headshot photography sessions. When fully extended, this stand easily manages my AD400 Pro bouncing into a seven-foot umbrella with perfect posture. I have no doubt that it could manage heavier loads with equal grace. For added stability, I love how the centre column can be quickly adjusted to touch the ground to add a fourth contact point. I liked the first one I purchased so much, that I just bought a second and wrote this five-star review. The guys at Strobepro are wonderful, their prices and shipping promotions are very reasonable, and it feels good doing business with a fellow Canadian company. As my photography business grows, I plan to buy more from them, and you should too — the stuff they sell is well priced, well made, and well understood thanks to their value-added online instructional videos on how to properly use equipment like this.
